Product Description
Originating as a traditional festive delicacy in Tamil Nadu (prominently featured in Chettinad and Kongunadu cuisines), Thengai Paal Murukku elevates the humble murukku into a gourmet treat. While conventional murukku relies on water, this recipe infuses thick, freshly extracted coconut milk directly into a sieved blend of rice flour and roasted urad dal flour. The dough is seasoned with cumin or sesame seeds and spiked with asafoetida, then pressed through a traditional murukku acchu (mould) into delicate spirals and deep-fried to a gorgeous cream or light-golden hue. The coconut milk naturally sweetens the undertone of the snack and makes the structure incredibly light, brittle, and addictive.
